Mechanism of Action

Ipratropium bromide is an anticholinergic drug. It works by blocking muscarinic acetylcholine receptors in the bronchi of the lungs, leading to relaxation of the bronchial muscles.

Uses

Ipratropium bromide is used for maintenance treatment of bronchospasm associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema and also used in asthma.
