Mechanism of Action

Levofloxacin Hemihydrate is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial topoisomerase IV and DNA gyrase, enzymes required for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination. This leads to the death of the bacteria.

Uses

Levofloxacin Hemihydrate is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, skin infections, urinary tract infections, and infections of the prostate gland.
